Partizan today`s performance was promising, if not even more, but we don`t want to go over the top in judging it, since this is only a third friendly of the preps and Hiroshima also had a tough practice match versus Dinamo Zagreb day before..
However, it would be unfair not saying how team looked much better on the pitch compared to previous tests and working days. There was more flowing play, particularly from Sasa Ilic, along with lot od runs, pressing, and tackles – all encouraging signs. Overall feeling of all present around the pitch was that we witnessed satisfying level of determination, fighting spirit, pace and creative play.
Two goals scored, sending-off, penalty-kick save and a win. What more one could have expected from one such friendly?
Partizan scored early on, via Tomic on 7. Sasa Ilic started his trademark attacking play, passed it for Lomic who made a cross for national youth team international Nemanja Tomic for a first Partizan goal in a friendly this term – 1-0.
Less than a minute after, Diarra hits the post instead of doubling Partizan lead. Straight after, action moves to Partizan box – Radenko Kamberovic brought down Yamazaki in a penalty area and got sent-off for it, with a subbing right. Still, Japanese side couldn`t equalise from the spot. Yamazaki took the penalty himself, but Mladen Bozovic made a save.
Out from the first 45, we note Aleksandar Davidov`s hitting the post on 19 diving header from Radosav Petrovic on 30 and another shot from Nemanja Tomic on 45. Nevertheless, Partizan coaching staff was probably more than happy with the way their charges created goal opprtunities. They are much better on the ball now and Sasa llic`s teammates listen carefully what he`s got to say during the play.
In a second half, skipper Mladen Krstajic is subbed and captain`s armband taken over by Srdja Knezevic. In this period all notable action happened in Hiroshima box, starting with Fejsa on 49, distance shot from Knezevic on 57, two clear-cut chances for Brana Ilic in just one Partizan attack (62). Back of the net was eventually found on 64. Youngster Brasanac slides and wins the ball, Cleo takes over and plays the pass into the space behind Hiroshima defence for storming Brana Ilic who takes an excellent edge of the box shot and scores for a win.
Ten minutes before the end of the friendly weather conditions worsened and a storm occurred just as the game was about to finish. During the game players battled quite a strong wind which obvioulsy didn`t help the proceedings.
Next Partizan friendly is in two days, versus Bulgarian side Litex, probably with a same kick-off time as today`s encounter – 16.00h CET.
Goran Stevanovic`s impressions after the friendly:
- There are no reasons for euphoria – this was just one excellent practice match . We still analyse and I`ve seen good and bad play details versus Hiroshima. We are going forward step by step. I`m not far from modest, I only notice our play is better with every coming day.
Stevanovic underlined performance of youngsters and even there were no particular names given, it`s clear he was thinking of Brasanac, Krneta, Popara…
-They show how much they love Partizan, playing with their heart which leads to us having to calm down their emotions. Experienced players also played a notable role in this friendly, making me more convinced we`ll play joyous football second term - to the great satisfaction of our loyal suporters!
