Former Vojvodina right-back signed for Partizan this week. 27-year-old signed a three-year deal with the club. He joined team training yesterday and picked shirt number 50.
Lazarevic spoke to Partizan website upon signing.
"This came out of the blue but i had no much doubts as Partizan is a club supported by half of this country, I hope I will blend in quickly and adapt to demands of the club and the coach. Partizan is a big club with high aims and i hope i can help us achieve our goals. I also hope we can achieve better results with a new boss, that we will be fighting for the trophies on equal terms with a competition", said Milan Lazarevic.
How would you describe yourself in playing terms?
"I`m playing at the back and my basic goal is to defend our net but my ambition is to be part of attacking play as i love to show upfront and to assist. I believe i have a good crossing abilities and i was in charge of set-piece duties in my previous clubs. I like to analyze opposition players i play against on the right flank to come out as winner from it".
Who do you know from Partizan squad?
"I played with Antic and Nikolic in Vojvodina while I know Zivkovic off the field and i would like to wish him speed recovery as he is one excellent chap and player. I hope we will form a team able to achieve good result as my dream was to play for a club in Champions league, so I believe we can move forward in that competition with good leadership and quality involved".
Your thoughts on Belgrade`s Eternal derby?
"It`s a game attracting greatest number of Serbian football fans who give you a lot of their emotions and i believe it transfers onto the players on the field. Therefore, derby has a special lure. I think every player has a desire to play one Eternal derby at least".
Your message to the fans?
"I`m impressed how they support the club during football and basketball matches. It`s the ambience whole Europe can only be jealous about and I`ll do my best to reward them wins and trophies, pushed forward by their energy", said Milan Lazarevic.
