Partizan beat second-tier Mladost GAT 3-0 away in a one-legged Serbian Cup last 32 stage tie.
Boss Savo Milosevic made only one starting line-up change from last weekend`s league game. In came Scekic for injured Owusu.
Partizan controlled early possession and played a good pressing in the midfield third but it was Mladost who had first shot on target when , on 4, Susnjar sent a low edge-of-the-box drive comfortably saved by keeper Jovanovic.
We`ve also seen two early bookings – Mladost`s Ilic on 7 for elbowing Zubairu and Kalulu on 8 for his late tackle on Mladost defender.
Partizan scored the opener on 14. Persistent Kalulu won midfield possession, Zahid sent a pinpoint long pass for Natcho who played a low ball into the heart of the box where it was met by Zubairu who sent a first-touch right-foot low shot into the bottom right corner of the net. Mladost GAT 0, Partizan 1.
Jurcevic and Natcho saw their shots on 21 and 22 blocked respectively while Arriaga headed the ball over the bar on 32.
Vukadinovic got himself a sudden opportunity after Partizan defensive blunder on 39 but he also headed the ball over the bar.
D Jovanovic turned and shot inside the box on 42 but his left-footed low effort was too weak to threaten the keeper.
Zahid`s lob attempt inside the box on 44 wasn`t accurate while Natcho`s edge the box drive on 45 ended wide.
It was quite eventful early after the restart, Zubairu had a close range attempt blocked on 46, shot from Tanasin inside the box on the other side minute later was met by a last-gasp block from Ilic while Natcho hit the post on 48 with his measured edge-of-the-box shot. Moments later, D Jovanovic heads the ball wide.
Partizan doubled the lead on 55. Jurcevic sent a corner-kick ball onto the far post where it was headed into the 6-yard box from Arriaga for Ilic who rose highest to head the ball into the net from close range. Mladost GAT 0, Partizan 2.
On the hour, D Jovanovic saw his angled lob headed out of the goalline by Kocovic.
Susnjar sent a tricky 20m shot on 63, keeper Jovanovic had to punch the ball out for a Mladost corner-kick.
Promising Partizan counter-attack on 64 came to nothing after Kalulu`s inaccurate pass for Zubairu.
Kalulu blasted the ball over the bar minute later from his 15m effort.
On 66, Vukadinovic`s shot was slightly blocked by Ilic for ball to go out a whisker away from the left post.
Partizan was close to score on 71 when Jurcevic played a ball into the 6-yard boc but Natcho and Zubairu failed to seize on it after some brave defending from Mladost.
Boss Milosevic made first substitution on 73, Kovac coming in for Natcho.
D Jovanovic got booked on 78 for his careless tackle just outside Mladost box.
On 79, Kovac sent a through pass for Zubairu but Mladost keeper came out to block Zubairu`s attempt for Partizan to get a corner-kick only.
On 81, Susnjar threatened again but he sent a promising shot wide.
Moments later, D Jovanovic and Zubairu were subbed by Grimaldo and Nikolic. The two subs were pivotal in Partizan scoring third goal of the night. Grimaldo made a good run into the box to get to the end of the pass, prompting keeper to come out off the line and push the ball away for Nikolic to score from his second attempt as the first one was blocked by defender guarding the empty net. Mladost GAT 0, Partizan 3.
Trifunovic and Fuhrer were Partizan finals subs, coming in for Zahid and Kalulu.
Fuhrer had a final attempt of the game, but his low left-footed drive on 90 was comfortably saved by Mladost keeper.
Partizan is away to TSC next weekend for a SSL round 14 match-up.
