Partizan’s players held a two-goal lead against Győr in their first friendly match of the training camp in Turkey, but the Hungarian side managed to equalize after reacting better in two almost identical situations following goalkeeper interventions, ending the match in a 2–2 (2–1) draw.

Head coach Nenad Stojaković planned for each first-team player who traveled to Turkey to spend a predetermined number of minutes on the pitch, with the exception of Mario Jurčević and Mateja Milovanović. However, that plan could not be fully implemented, as Nemanja Trifunović picked up an injury as early as the 22nd minute and had to leave the game prematurely. Aside from that setback, everything else was quite satisfactory this afternoon.

The players got valuable minutes, the coaching staff was able to assess everyone’s current condition, and in the end Partizan played a good match and secured a solid result against a strong opponent—despite far from ideal weather conditions, as rain at times turned into a heavy downpour.

The black-and-whites made their best impression in the opening half hour, taking a tangible lead through goals by Matija Ninić in the 9th minute and Dimitrije Janković in the 18th. Željko Gavrić pulled one back in the 27th minute, while Enžije equalized in the 89th. That period of the match saw Partizan, a Serbian SuperLiga side, dominate their opponent, who occupies the same position in the Hungarian championship.

Considering this was Partizan’s first match since arriving in Antalya and that the team entered the game after just one day at their base in Turkey, the performance shown was more than solid.

The reigning midseason leaders of Serbian football now have three days ahead to continue building form under coach Stojaković, with the next friendly scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, against Slovenia’s Mura.
