Partizan suffered a 0-1 (0-1) defeat to Radnički 1923 in the fifth round of the Mozzart Bet SuperLiga Serbia.
Partizan put a great deal of energy and effort into the match against the Kragujevac side, but despite their efforts, they could not find a way past goalkeeper Luka Lijeskić. The visiting goalkeeper was by far the standout player on the pitch and was also helped by some good fortune at times, most notably in the first half when Brazilian forward Jeh hit the post with the score still 0-0.
The powerful striker had two good opportunities within the opening 30 seconds, while Zubairu Ibrahim, Milan Vukotić and Ognjen Ugrešić also had chances later in the match. However, none of Partizan's seven shots on target found the back of the net. On the other side, Radnički 1923 took advantage of their first real opportunity in the 45th minute through Uroš Sremčević, despite playing with 10 men following Hasan Hilu's dismissal in the 33rd minute.
For virtually the entire second half, Radnički 1923 focused primarily on protecting their goal, while looking for opportunities on the counter-attack.
The energy and effort shown by Partizan's players were recognised by the supporters, who gave the team strong backing both during and after the match and wished them luck ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Conference League play-off against Getafe, which is scheduled for Thursday, 20 August, in Spain.
