Dreams are achieved if you firmly and strongly believe in them. You need to be aware of your qualities, to be persistent and patient and to have a trust and support of people around you – everything Ognjen Ugresic already has.
Partizan academy graduate gradually moved up the ladder, getting the opportunity to train with the first team and to make his cameo debut soon after. 18-year-old Ugresic made his first starting line-up appearance three weeks ago away to Radnicki 1923 and he scored his first Partizan goal home to same opponent last night.
Ugresic is a perfect example of steady development as dreams are not there for one night only, you dream about certain things for years and it`s hard to expect your dreams to come through overnight.
Everything needs time and time is on Ugresic`s side.
“Of course I`m over the moon after scoring my first Partizan goal. It was not a winning one but we took the lead that helped us release the pressure and I cannot describe the joy I feel after it. This is something I was dreaming about since the day I started playing the game. I achieved my dream and I`m more than thrilled to score in a match we won”, said Ognjen Ugresic.
He was clinical just before the hour mark and rushed to East stand to celebrate his first Partizan goal for a reason.
“My family and friends were there. There you go – it turned out they were all there when I was to score my first goal and this is for them. I celebrated with my teammates too and my fellow youths Vanja Dragojevic and Dusan Jovanovic were first to hug me. I`ve been training with them for ages and their support means a lot to me. We are thrilled to be together at senior team and supporting each other to be even better”.
There`s four rounds of football before the end of the SSL season and there`s no doubt Ugresic will be integral part of the final 360 minutes.
“We want to end the season on a high so we can then focus on things ahead of us – European qualifiers. Our aim is to reach group stage of one European competition”, said Ognjen Ugresic.
